Baby Gift {All about the Baby}

A little gift for my best friends newborn. For the first time I created a tag blanket with an applique. I also created a pacifier holder and a giraffe rattle in the same colors as the blanket.

The tag blanket is for sensor play. Elliott loved to put his little fingers through the ribbons in his tag blanket.

I am  excited about the applique, it turned out good. I know a  “J” is not the most dificult letter and it was a bit easier than I thought it would be.

I used differnt colors and sizes of ribbon for the blanket. Some of it had texture and some were just smooth. The blanket is made out of blue white plaid cotton and mink fabric.

I also got new clips for the pacifier holders. I got them in all kinds of different colors and now they are matching to the fabric.

DIY Griaffe Rattle

Baby Rattle {All about the Baby}

Another Baby {All about the Baby} post, because I have been sewing just for the new babies which I have mentioned in my last blog post. So I thought I am doing a little series for the next couple weeks.

I’ve seen these rattles or stuffed giraffes on Pinterest before and kinda forgot about them until a couple weeks ago, when I picked up some bargain books. And tada in one of the books the pattern for the Giraffes was in it.

My three little friends are going to different homes. I hope the boys and girls will like them.

I just used cotton fabric for the bodies and I did add some jingle bells to my Giraffes and created little bags like they suggested in this blog post on Sew Mama Sew.

The pattern for the Giraffe I got from the book “Simple Sewing for Baby“.
