Bandana {All about the Baby}

It’s Baby Time again! This year a couple of my friends either just had a baby or are expecting. Soo exciting! And for me just another reason to try new things and sew more.

I bought this super cute mustache fabric and created a Bandana for the boys. One is for Elliott and the other one is for the newborn boy of my best friend at home in Germany. The one for the newborn is actually a little smaller than Elliott’s, otherwise he would just get lost in it.

Elliott is usually drooling away when he is teething and I just dislike putting a simple bib on him. He always wears Bandanas. Some of the Bandanas are actually from when I was a kid. It just looks cuter than an bib which you use for food.

The fabric was a fat quarter and I just cut it diagonal. For the back I cut up a plain white T-Shirt. The T-Shirt was new and free and I didn’t like the logo on it, so I would have never worn it anyway.

Again I used my new Serger, so easy and simple to create this. I top stitched only the top part of the bandana to close it.

This is a perfect project for any person who is either using their Serger for the first time or want to start sewing. When you start sewing for the first time, I would suggest to use flannel for the back instead of a knit jersey (T-Shirt fabric). Knits just roll up so easily and it gets frustrating to sew it on a normal sewing machine.
